With combined experience extending back to 2007, and having sold hundreds of properties in varied market conditions, we have the experience that we put to use for you. You never need to worry if there's a rare instance that one of us can't be with you, we work closely with each other and can jump in to assist so that your experience is seamless. We have purchased, renovated, and successfully sold (within 2 weeks of listing) over 10 family homes, so we get it. Meet John & Dorian
John Frère | REALTOR®
John brings a depth of property and land experience to Frère Realty that is difficult to replicate. Before becoming a REALTOR® in 2007, he spent his career farming and cattle ranching as part of a large family agricultural operation — experience that gives him a practical understanding of rural property from the owner’s perspective.
His hands-on land experience includes subdivision development, rotational grazing design and converting pasture to productive cropland. Combined with his Rural Real Estate certification, it makes him particularly well-equipped to advise clients buying and selling farms, acreages and land.
John is equally accomplished in Residential Real Estate. An award-winning REALTOR® and certified negotiator, he has worked successfully across property types and changing market conditions, with a particular strength in assessing property value.
Together with his wife Dorian, John has also built or renovated 11 residential properties and worked on the development of four CIR Realty offices.
As a Partner with Dorian in Frère Realty, John brings practical experience, good judgment and a straightforward, down-to-earth approach to every client and property.
Dorian Frère, MBA | REALTOR® | Associate Broker
Dorian brings an unusual combination of real estate, business and hands-on experience with homes to Frère Realty.
A REALTOR® since 2010, she has spent the past 16 years helping Buyers and Sellers make good decisions about their homes. Her expertise extends well beyond the transaction. Over the past 13 years, Dorian and John have personally built or renovated 11 residential properties and worked on the design and development of four CIR Realty offices. Combined with her background in Home Marketing, Staging and space design, that experience has given her a practical understanding of how homes function, how they can be improved and what is — and isn't — worth changing.
For Sellers, that means thoughtful advice about preparing and positioning a home for market. For Buyers, it means seeing beyond dated finishes or an awkward layout to recognize potential — while bringing a realistic perspective to what it may take to achieve it.
Dorian’s earlier career included Nursing and a decade of Executive Management Consulting with Alberta Health, Health Canada and Alberta Primary Care Networks. An MBA, she has also led operations for CIR Realty’s Red Deer Region since 2013 and in 2023/24 designed CIR’s REALTOR® Onboarding Program during an six-month consulting engagement.
